I'm not sure where to begin. I ordered the large Mina special with pepperoni, sausage, onion and mushroom and a small sausage. Was told it would be 30 minutes. It was 45 and they weren't busy in the restaurant. The pizza was horrible. Well, that's not totally fair. The sausage pizza was ok. The other? The crust was flimsy and doughy. It literally wobbled as I picked it up. I had to put the hot pizza in my toaster oven to try to crisp up the crust. Didn't work. Looked like they opened up a large can of mushrooms and dumped it on the top. I kept the pizza level in the car, yet it was squished to one side of the box. Totally disappointing for $30 worth of pizza. Maybe this stuff is decent in the restaurant, but I'm so sad I wasted $30 on this garbage. Never, ever again.

The setup here is pretty strange. When you step in you think you're getting a waiter served, sit down, italian dining experience with nice decor and seating, but really it's just casual italian much like the chain Fazolis but with better food. While Fazolis is obviously your typical chain fast food, Notinis one ups them here. I ordered a small 8 inch size cheese pizza with onions and green peppers ($6.89). This size is plenty for one person with a large hunger. Their pizza is obviously homemade, as it takes thirty to forty minutes to make. It's worth it though. It comes out mouth burning hot. The crust is a perfect mix between a thin crust and hand tossed. While I've had better pizza, this isn't bad. They give you a ton of food for your money too. The bread they give you with the meal is a little bland, and pretty basic, but with some marinara it's alright. The employees are really friendly and helpful. I haven't tried many italian places in the area, so I don't know how this compares, but it's not bad. I'd at least give it a try.

Have eaten ther frequently over the past several years and the tea is still great, the Italina salad is wonderful, but the muffulettas seem to have less olive salad and the bread seems different. Will wait a while before we go back.

I didn't like it. I had gotten the chicken fettuccine Alfredo and it was less than okay. Saying it was "Okay," us an understatrment. I'll give it too much credit If I sait it was decent. The chicken tasted like it was more than a day old, more like reheated, the Alfredo sauce tasted packaged and the garlic bread like regular toast with garlic powder and Italian season on it. I could have done better at home in my own kitchen. I wouldn't go back there if President Clinton offered to pay and George Clooney was my date for the evening.

Tried this place twice because of what others say about it, but I have to firmly disagree. If you are not familiar with the place, it's hard to order as you have to place order when you walk in and go to the counter to do this. Kinda puts you on the spot up front, especially if there's people waiting in line behind you. I ordered lasagna both times and it was horrible both times. I don't know what they did to make it taste so bad, but I will never set foot in this place again. I don't care what anybody says. Felt like I was in a fast food restaurant (except that it took so long) when they call out your order and you have to go get it yourself and even refill drinks yourself. I guess Monjunis has spoiled me.

We'll I didn't know they were closed today. I guess I've never been here on a Sunday before so now I guess that means I have to go somewhere else to eat.

Iced tea was good and so was the bread served with dinner. The spaghetti tasted lol'd chef boyardee in a can, and the salad was iceberg lettuce with a few tomatoes mixed in (for like $12). Overpriced in my opinion.

When I go to Notini's I usually get the pizza and it is good for the most part, I mean its no better than the local pizza joints around town, but this trip I decided to get the roast beef po-boy. The reason I gave this place 5 stars is because the roast beef po boy was one of the best po-boys I have ever eaten. it was amazing, the way it was toasted to perfection, and the cheese was great on this sandwich they used some cheese that was melted just right an there wasn't an over abundance. It was great. Not to mention the impeccable staff of young teenage girls who were to say the least smokin' hot.

Wonderful food. Ordered child's spaghetti & 1/4 muffy. Tea was as I remembered. Definitely will be back.

Definitely not the notini's of my childhood. Same look, atmosphere, and menu but the quality of the food has gone waaay downhill. Salad: a handful of white lettuce and a few slices of tomato does not make a salad. Lasagna: was almost cold and was bland no flavor. Only good thing was the tea...tea was as awesome as it ever was!

I grew up eating Notini's and thought it was da bomb in High School. On a recent trip back, I was sorely disappointed. You know when you break off a relationship then a couple years later think how great it was because you couldn't remember all the bad things. Yeah...had one of those. The oven was broken during my trip and they could not toast the muffaleta. If that is one of your best selling items on the menu, please get the oven fixed and give people what they want. I ended up ordering a small plate of the plain sauce spaghetti and the Italian salad. Spaghetti was not good. Salad was ok, but iceberg lettuce always gives me the shivers. The iced tea was the most appealing thing about my meal. Improve the quality of ingredients and this place would be da bomb level again.

It's all about the iced tea and a muffaletta! I've never actually had anything else at Notini's. I remember long, long ago when it was in the strip mall where the Old Navy is now, back when that strip mall had a Safeway, a Eckerd's and a TG&Y. Do you remember that? It was in the early 80s. I digress. Notini's is a kooky little place. People flock for the all you can eat spag, but I can't be bothered. I love the hot muff! It's not the most authentic, and they even had a turkey option, but it's darn tasty! And the tea....I'm in love!

This was a pretty good place. We ate for about $10 a person. The atmosphere was great. I had plenty of leftover spaghetti and garlic bread, although my boyfriend ate his whole small pizza. He liked the mint tea, while I did not, but almost everyone I've talked to loves the tea. The only thing that I didn't really like was having to get my own silverware and having to walk up to the counter each time I needed a refill. I would have liked to been waited on for that price.

This is truly a Bossier thing. Not that there's anything wrong with that! I guess when people from Shreveport think local Italian restaurant, they're obviously going to think of Monjuni's and when you have a Monjuni's in your proximity, why cross a bridge? Interesting thing is, just down the street from Notini's, is a Monjuni's, but Notini's stands strong against its' competitive neighbor. In Bossier, there are definitely Notini's people and Monjuni's people. I am from Shreveport, but I work in Bossier, so I visit both camps and I won't say who I pledge my allegiance to the most. I will say this though, both are comparably priced (I'd say between $12-$15 per adult on a ticket) and serve large portions for those prices. Notini's serves the most delicious mint iced tea in large frozen goblets with wedges of lemon and orange decorating each rim. Very tasty and refreshing! I will also say this, Notini's is unassuming from the outside and that's putting it nicely. It looks about as inviting for delicious Italian dishes, as a vacuum cleaner repair shop. It's in a cruddy little strip mall right off of busy, heavily-congested, Airline Drive and East Texas Street with a closed-down Blockbuster Video and a Chuck E. Cheese within close proximity. Not necessarily a place that you pull in to, and get out of the car, look around and say to your significant other, "Woooooow...Now, this is niiiiiice." However, the inside is not without its' charms and is always full of devoted Bossierites. The staff is super-friendly and efficient, you place your order at the front after walking in, and then they call your number when your food is ready and you can go pick it up and you can also go back to the front for tea refills (which I would really like to just tap a vein and have the tea served to me through an i.v....it is just that tasty!) Ooooh! And they also have a Ms. Pac Man/Galaga, free-standing, video arcade game there, just like from the 80's! (don't know if they got it from the Chuck E. Cheese, or what?) but that still totally rocks! When I was there, this evening they were also selling their white t-shirts for $2! Two dollars for a t-shirt! I know it's shameless advertising, but 2 bucks? Come on! You can't beat that with a stick! I mean you could, but then it would get all dirty, but I digress...I'll say this, if you're a Shreveporter, who's never been to Notini's and you're feeling a little adventurous, head over the bridge and give Notini's a try. It might just become your new favorite thing. I can tell you, the pizza is good and the spaghetti with meat sauce is very good. (You know, now that I think about it, it almost has a Mama Mia's vibe, flavor and kitsch, circa 1995-but cleaner! Lots, lots, cleaner! And much more family-oriented for sure, this is, after all, Bossier we're talking about.) Not that there's anything wrong with that!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
